Dear Mets,

Thank you for getting me through the hardest time of my life. When there wasn’t anything else that made me want to get up in the morning you gave me something to cheer for. The stadium feels more like home to me than anywhere else. Leaving New York is going to be so hard but I know baseball will be here waiting for me when I need it again. It’s not really goodbye, just see you later.

Dear fellow female MLB fans,

Gotta be honest, girls. I know we all love these boys to the ends of the earth, but calling yourself the wife/future wife of a player, married or not, will never not be creepy. Sorry.

With love,

Another die-hard.

Dear Hiroki Kuroda,

Welcome to the Yankees. Welcome Home.
And Congrats on an amazing job during your first of many Yankee Openers.
-A true fan

Dear Jorge Posada,

Thank you for coming back and throwing out the first pitch at the Yankees’ home opener. After seeing your career end so abruptly, it was like being given closure. More so than seeing your retirement press conference. This was the fans’ chance to tell you so long and to tell you thank you. It was our chance to tell you everything we wanted to say ever since October 6th. Thank you, good bye, we love you.

I’ll miss you so much this year, Sado.

Dear the remaining three of the core four,

You guys can’t go.EVER. I love you so much. Baseball wouldn’t be baseball without you.

I’m turning 16 this summer. Literally, I do not know baseball without the Core Four.

Watching Jorge today made me cry. Thinking about all of you just not playing anymore is making me cry.

please please please never retire.

Love,

the biggest core four fan ever

Dear Andy Pettite,

Thank you so much for coming back. We need you just as much as you need us. It’s so amazing to be able to say that you’re at Spring Training again.

As horrible as it is to say it, it almost makes the gaping hole we Yankee fans feel for Posada’s retirement a little less gaping. The Core Two did not last for long. Thank God we’re back to the Core Three. It’s not perfect, but it’s better.

Love,

A devoted Yankee fan

Game of the Week

Dear MLB,

For the love of God, there are way better teams to feature on Sunday Night’s Game of the Week besides the Red Sox and Yankees.

Thanks much!

Dear Luke Scott,

Sorry Red Sox fans actually show to the ballpark and support their team even on away games. Every team has vulgar fans. Get over it.

Dear Tek,

Thank you so much for everything. You are the captain forever. You helped the Sox win two world series after not winning one for 86 years. Your leadership and hard work paid off and helped make the Red Sox what they are today. Just, thank you so much. The Red Sox, Red Sox Nation, and I will all miss you so much.

Love,
A Red Sox fan

Dear Jorge Posada,

Thank you for all 20 years you played in the minors/majors. Your legend will continue to live on, and I will continue to admire your drive and perseverance. I had the honor of seeing you play and catch 3 times, you have made such a huge impact on my life and we’ve never even met. Thank you for everything. Signed, Your biggest fan, who will forever love and admire you.
